Danny leads our firm and our Real Estate and Development team. He’s known for being practical and commercially-focused, as well as for his ability to steer a project from concept and planning to completion. He is a specialist advocate in the Land and Environment Court and associated jurisdictions and is currently advising in relation to a number of major projects. Danny is a leading Australian planning lawyer and has written and lectured extensively on getting the development through Council including publishing a text on this topic.
Experience
- Advising on the due diligence for one of Australia’s largest ever property transactions.
- Advising on planning approval of a staged master-planned lifestyle village comprising over 500 apartments, commercial premises and open space at “Parkgrove” Botany”.
- Advising on lodging a master plan and section 96 modification application, as well as steering the development application through council at Pemberton Street, Botany.
- Providing planning strategy and advice on a section 96 modification application involving “Lake Promenade”, Rouse Hill.
- Lead the arbitration team advising Consolidated Contractors Company on one of the largest ever LNG pipeline arbitration disputes in Australia.
- Author of articles and chapters on local government law and planning in publications such as the Law Society Journal and Butterworth’s Local Government and Planning NSW.
- Previously a lecturer in Local Government Law and co-examiner in Administrative Law at the University of Technology, Sydney.
